How Does the VascuLyse 2G Work?
A high-tech procedure, VascuLyse is a treatment that makes use of a mild electrical current to coagulate a distended (swollen) capillary. The treatment is also known as thermo-coagulation – a regimen that is safe, effective, and non-invasive. The special VascuLyse stylus only touches the surface of the skin.
Thermo-coagulation treats the dilated section of a capillary, causing the blood in the capillary to “solidify”. While the blood flow is interrupted throughout the treated section, it is actually redirected into capillaries that are nearby. Healing is quite quick, occurring within 3-5 days of treatment.
The VascuLyse procedure does not leave scar tissue on the epidermal surface, and in most cases, any post-treatment scabbing will be unnoticeable. Skin reactions after a treatment are minimal, if any. But most important, the procedure is completely safe – using stylus tips that are disposable and sterile.
What to Expect Throughout the Treatment
- Before: Prior to your appointment, avoid using any topical creams or lotions on the affected area. It's also advisable to disclose any relevant medical history or ongoing medications to your skincare professional. Depending on the nature of your treatment, factors will vary. Contact our team and set up a preliminary consultation to discuss concerns or questions for personalized direction.
- During: The VascuLyse treatment involves the precise application of mild electrical currents using a specialized stylus. The sensation is typically minimal, often described as a slight tingling or pricking sensation. The procedure itself is relatively quick and efficient, designed to target each specific skin issue. Our specialists will ensure your comfort and safety throughout the treatment, and are happy to explain each step and address any concerns you may have during the process.
- After: Avoid touching or picking at the treated area to prevent any potential irritation or disruption to the healing process. Your skincare specialist might provide specific aftercare instructions, including gentle cleansing routines and the application of recommended soothing products. It's essential to follow these instructions diligently to promote proper healing and minimize any discomfort. Limit exposure to direct sunlight and avoid activities that might strain or irritate the treated area, such as hot saunas or swimming pools, for the specified recovery period.
